Actress or Humanitarian?

Most
of us know Angelina Jolie as an actress and daughter of the famous, Jon
Voight. But what some people don’t
know is that she is a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations. Despite coming from a famous Hollywood
family, Jolie had a rough life. When her parents divorced, she moved to New York with her mother. Once Jolie showed an interest in
acting, her family moved back to California. She enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, where she excelled at acting. After two years, she enrolled at
Beverly Hills High School. In the
time she attended Beverly Hills High School, she felt different from the other
kids. Despite the struggle, she
became a famous and successful Hollywood actress. It was actually on the movie set of Tomb Raider that she realized she wanted to help the world.
The movie set of Tomb Raider was located in Cambodia, where she witnessed the poor condition of the country. Interested in this, she continued to travel around the world and look at other countries that were going through the same thing. Disgusted in what she saw, the wanted to make a difference and she donated one million dollars to Afghan refugees. In 2001, the United Nations named Jolie a Goodwill Ambassador. Ever since then, she has been traveling around to different areas and donating money. She has also adopted three children from poverty stricken areas around the world. Jolie is benefiting all those people who don’t have the voice to speak for themselves. She is showing social responsibility. She is voluntarily helping other people of the world and is donating her money to help them. She truly is a woman on a mission.

Well-known Actor Diagnosed
With Cancer
Swayze was diagnosed with cancer about a month ago. He has been receiving treatment for his life-threatening diagnosis and has been responding to it very well; only five percent of patients live more than five years after being diagnosed.

Swayze is starring as an unorthodox FBI agent in an A&E pilot called “The Beast”. If the show gets picked up Swayze plans on continuing to be part of the production, as long as his treatments allow.

Winehouse and her Grammy’s

On February 3rd, the 50th annual Grammy Awards took place. It was a historic night for many people. Tina Turner performed on stage with Beyonce, Herbie Hancock walked away with Album of the year
(which was a shock to most), and Amy Winehouse stole the show by winning five
out of six Grammy’s.
As
many know, Winehouse entered rehab a few weeks before the Grammy’s took
place. She was determined to
perform at the biggest show in music entertainment and she did. She performed live from London at 4:00
in the morning. She sang, You Know
I’m No Good, and her hit single, Rehab.
After winning five Grammy’s, you would think all the talk surrounding Winehouse would be positive, wrong. Natalie Cole didn’t have anything nice to say about Winehouse. Cole says that Winehouse shouldn’t have been awarded because of her drug use. I thought the Grammy’s was about the artist’s music, not their personal life. Granted Winehouse has hit rock bottom, but she is getting help. Winehouse has a killer album and apparently other people think so as well. This girl can sing and I believe she shouldn’t be penalized for her personal life. I am waiting for Amy to make her new CD and I am sure more Grammy’s are in her future.

That's what Diddy told People this week while celebrating his new star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
We've been constantly impressed by shape-shifting entrepreneur Diddy as he's moved from multinamed record producer to hip-hop star to party monster to fashion designer to actor and several other things we've probably forgotten.
And now, we salute his ambition to put in all the hard work necessary to become a movie star. He seems able to do it all. Our only qualm is with him getting racial all up in our facial, though he's clearly having fun with the idea. Because, pigmentation aside, being the next Diddy is a doozy in its own right.
Besides, we have a sneaking suspicion that Bruce Willis may want to be the black Bruce Willis. And he's got first dibs.
